Recently, the domestic and foreign used car markets have rebounded simultaneously. Domestic transaction volume has risen for three consecutive weeks. The markets of Russia, Ghana and South Korea have each shown bright spots. China's used car exports have welcomed favorable policies and new opportunities in overseas markets.
The global auto market is picking up and opportunities to go to sea are highlighted
01 Domestic volume
In mid-to-late May 2026, the average daily trading volume of used cars nationwide reached 74,000 units, a slight increase from the previous month, and the average daily trading volume climbed for three consecutive weeks. East China and Central South China lead the country in transaction scale. Demand for terminal car purchases has been steadily released, the pace of inventory replenishment of car dealers has been stable, and the overall market has maintained a moderate recovery trend.
1-4 In January, the cumulative transaction volume of used cars nationwide was 6.4932 million, a year-on-year increase of 2.93%. The age of trading vehicles continues to be younger, and models of 3-6 years old are still the main force of trading. Within three years, the proportion of quasi-new vehicles will further increase, and the market structure will continue to be optimized.

02 Russian market increases
In April 2026, sales of used passenger cars in Russia increased by 6.4% year-on-year, rising sharply month-on-month, setting a monthly high for the year; cumulative sales in the first four months increased by 5.1% year-on-year. China's imports of used cars to Russia surged 1.4 times year-on-year. China brands accelerated to seize Russia's used car market share and became an important growth pole in the local market.
03 Ghana Tax Free
Starting from May 1, 2026, China's second-hand car exports to Ghana will be exempted from tariffs, significantly reducing the cost of bicycle export and broadening profit margins. The African used car market is in strong demand and huge size, and the proportion of used cars in China in the non-market has increased rapidly year after year. At the same time, the import access standards of African countries differ greatly, with restrictions on vehicle age, vehicle model, and power type. Export companies need to comply with regulations and screen vehicle sources in advance and adapt to national policies.
04 Korean power surge
Driven by high oil prices, South Korea's trading volume of second-hand electric vehicles surged by 120.4% year-on-year, far exceeding the growth rate of traditional fuel-fired vehicles. The transaction cycle of second-hand electric vehicles has been greatly reduced, and the gap with the trading cycle of fuel vehicles has narrowed significantly. Electric vehicles have become among the mainstream circulation models, with Tesla, Hyundai, Kia and other models firmly on the hot-selling list.
