Sergei Telikov, general manager of the Russian automobile market analysis agency Motor Vehicle Statistics Network, told Satellite News Agency that Russia's imports of used cars from China will increase by 2.5 times year-on-year in 2025.

According to Telikov, Russia imported 80,000 - 120,000 used passenger cars (more than 3 years old) from China in 2025, which is 3.5 times that of 2024 (23,500 vehicles).

He also pointed out that more than half (56.4%) of the cars imported from China last year had engine power above 160 horsepower. He also said that December set a record for the export volume of used cars supplied from China to Russia in a single month, reaching 11864 vehicles.

According to Telikov, China car brand Geely ranks seventh in the list of the most popular brands of used cars imported from Russia in 2025, and Chang 'an ranks eighth. Toyota, Volkswagen and Honda rank among the top three in the rankings.

In 2025, a total of 489,100 new passenger cars assembled in China were sold in the Russian market, a year-on-year decrease of 38%.
