The Ministry of Commerce of Myanmar issued Order No. 120/2025 on December 31, announcing the manufacturing year regulations for imported cars in 2026.

The announcement stated that the current policy will remain unchanged and will continue to be implemented.

According to the regulations on manufacturing years for imported automobiles in 2026, the allowable import manufacturing years for various types of automobiles are as follows:

·Passenger cars: manufactured between 2025 and 2026.

·Commercial vehicles (trucks/buses): manufactured between 2022 and 2026.

·Fire trucks/ambulances: manufactured between 2017 and 2026.

·Mechanical equipment and vehicles: manufactured between 2017 and 2026.

However, when importing passenger cars, commercial vehicles, fire engines/ambulances, only left-hand drive vehicles are allowed to be imported.

The announcement pointed out that for vehicles with mechanical equipment listed in the annex that are not driving on public roads, vehicles manufactured in the past 15 years are allowed to be imported (i.e. vehicles manufactured in 2012 and later years).

It is reported that this announcement is based on regular procedures, and the regulations on the manufacturing years of automobiles allowed to be imported are routinely announced every year.
