According to a report by "City News Network" on January 7, the Ghana Vehicle Authority (DVLA) recently issued a notice requiring all vehicle owners registered in the country before 2023 to migrate their file information from the original paper system to the agency's digital platform, in conjunction with the new version of the vehicle license plate system planned to be launched in 2026. Car owners must go to DVLA service outlets in various places as soon as possible to complete the information migration, so that they can successfully apply for the new license plate after the parliament completes the relevant approval procedures.
Since vehicle files registered before 2023 are all paper records, relevant car owners need to complete the digital migration of paper files at any DVLA office across the country before they can participate in the subsequent application process for the new version of the license plate system. If vehicle information is not entered into the digital platform in time, even if the parliament passes relevant legislation on the new license plate system, car owners will not be able to obtain the new license plate.
