Petrov emphasized that the "gold value" of new cars in Russia ultimately depends on three things-the degree of localization of production, price positioning, and whether car companies can accurately cover the actual needs of local core market segments.
In terms of demand structure, SUVs are still generally regarded as the most certain track by Russian channels. Alexander Shaprinsky, commercial director of dealer network Pragmatika, judged that by the end of 2025, SUVs 'share of the Russian market will exceed 70%, so SUVs will still be the "most promising market segment" in 2026. He also mentioned that the "belated" launch of LADA's new crossover Azimut may also become one of the important events in the Russian car market in 2026.
At the specific model level, Nikolai Ivanov, ROlF's new car sales director, named three more promising products: the just-released Voyah flagship model, and the Taishan, which is positioned as a crossover;OMODA C3; and the new Exlantix crossover from the OMODA brand. Ivanov believes that the Russian market is forming a clear trend: under the current pattern, brands are more likely to continue to expand their product series rather than "exit" certain models on a large scale. This trend will continue in 2026.
